Opening the doors…
On December 23rd 2005, the doors to La Pagina en la Puerta, a free neighborhood library opened. A sign was put outside the door, which was left open. Children were curious to see and read the collection of children and adolescent books in Spanish. For the first day, 11 children came, and on the 2nd 18 came, and each day more and more, until...
The library’s new home...
Due to great success and need for more room, within the first few months of its founding, the library moved to its new more spacious location only three doors away from the original doorway. More accommodating to school hours, after its first summer, the library changed its hours from the morning to the afternoon.
