Tour Information
The language institute will also be able to help you book tours to Machu Picchu, Lares, Choquequirao, Salcantay the jungle and others. While at the institute, just go into the office and let them know which tour(s) you are interested in. Information on the language school will be provided to you once you have paid the deposit for your volunteer and language program.
One of the library’s sponsors, Instinct Travel, has the experience and is available to assist you in arranging participation in group tours while you are visiting in Cusco. Instinct can can arrange city tours of Cusco, tours of the Sacred Valley, horseback riding, bicycling and rafting tours. They can also arrange 2 or 4 day hikes on the Inca Trail, and tours of Machu Picchu. All tours include an English speaking guide. For more information, write to info@instinct-travel.com.
There are also a multitude of tour agencies that are around Cusco’s plaza, which would be more than happy to book you a tour.
Please note, if you are interested in trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, you will need to book this at least 3 months in advance because space on the trail books up quickly. Please consult as many agencies, via the internet, as possible to find the best and soundest deal possible.
With any of the agents, make sure you ask them about what equipment is provided, which meals are included, transportation, hotel and/or camping, and ask what you need to bring. Also ask if you need to bring your own water.
